About Captain Mike

Captain Michael Yount spent his childhood exploring the creeks and rivers along the coast of Charleston, SC. Some of his fondest memories as a child are treading the creeks with a seine or throwing his cast net in search of the many different species that inhabit the waters along the shoreline.

As a young teen Michael spent most of his free time chasing fish around the Charleston Harbour and expanding his knowledge as a salt water sportsman. In his late teens and early twenties he started venturing offshore even furthering his knowledge of sport fishing.

During the 1990s Captain Mike successfully fished numerous club tournaments and Governors Cup Billfish tournaments. Around the year 2000 Captain Mike started sharing his fishing lifestyle and is currently running inshore and offshore charters. Always following conservation guidelines and policies, Captain Mike Yount is the man to call for your next fishing adventure!
